The statement further noted that “on this occasion, Sameh Choukri conveyed to HM the King an invitation from His Excellency President Al-Sissi to pay an official visit to Egypt.”

King Mohammed VI “gave his instructions to the cabinet to ensure the success of the upcoming High Joint Committee, mainly through elaborating joint programs and partnership agreements including the public, semi-public and private sectors in the interest of the two brotherly peoples and countries,” the aforementioned statement added.

“The audience was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar and Egypt’s ambassador in Rabat Ahmed Ehab Gamal Eldin,” the statement closed.

It is worth reminding that this new turn of events comes few days following Morocco’s state televisions 2M TV and RTM broadcasting, with the unveiling of 2015, 2 reports calling Egypt’s army forces toppling the “legitimate President Mohamed Mursi in july 2013 a coup d’état” and “not a revolution,” further noting that Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is “a coup leader” and that “Mursi was democratically elected, ergo he is the legitimate president.”
