Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- King Mohammed VI chaired a meeting at the royal palace in Rabat yesterday to review the national program for drinking water supply and irrigation from 2020 to 2027.

The meeting aimed to accelerate the program and allocate additional funds to update its plans.

The program includes projects to connect water basins, build new dams, expand water treatment plants, and provide drinking water in rural areas.

The king also instructed the government to activate emergency measures to deal with the negative impact of the climate and water shortage on agriculture and grazing.
