Tangier went dark for one hour yesterday as its citizens agreed to turn off lights to protest against Amandis, a water and electricity company.

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The locals of the Moroccan city of Tangier showed an unparalleled unity and creativity when it came to turning off the lights for one hour yesterday to protest against what they called sky-rocketing prices of electricity Amandis started incurring them, including a bad management of the city and a nonchalance vis-à-vis their demands.

Even mosques lights were turned off as candles were used instead as the image underneath shows.
