US President Barack Obama criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin for intervening in Ukraine’s Crimean region.
Obama told reporters on Tuesday the international community has a strong belief the Russian action is violating international law.
He said the Russian leader seems to have a different set of lawyers making a different set of interpretations. He added that nobody would agree with that.
Obama said Russia’s neighbors have deep concerns about this kind of meddling. He said the Ukrainian crisis will push some countries further away from Russia.
Obama said Russia should act to calm the situation and accept international monitors.
