The United States has sent a team of experts to Asia to help investigate the disappearance of a Malaysian airliner.
The National Transportation Safety Board said the team of investigators left the US on Saturday night.
The team is accompanied by technical advisors from the US Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing.
The NTSB said once the aircraft location is identified, International Civil Aviation Organization protocols will determine which country will lead the investigation, adding the NTSB is to support that country.
