A 3-day strike by Lufthansa pilots will begin 10 pm Tuesday and continue until Saturday.

It will affect all Lufthansa passenger services at all German airports as well as its low-cost offshoot GermanWings, RT reported.

The company said in a statement that only 500 flights by the two carriers will operate during the strike.

It will be the third strike to hit Lufthansa’s home base at Frankfurt in six weeks.

Last Thursday, Lufthansa had to cancel 1,800 services across German airports because of a strike by public sector workers such as baggage handlers.

Lufthansa employs 118,000 people and carries more passengers than any European airline except for Ryanair and is currently midway through a three-year $1.5 billion cost-cutting and restructuring drive.
