The Moroccan Jewish Cultural Heritage celebrated in Berlin Germany

A meeting under the theme “Moroccan Jewish Cultural Heritage” was organized in Berlin by Omar Zniber, Ambassador of the king Mohammed VI, in partnership with the Berlin Islamic Art and Museum and the German Foreign Affairs ministry.

The event program included a photograph exhibition of Gabriel Soussan, a Caftans parade from the Albert Oikrine designer’s collection and other exhibits about the restoration of synagogues in Fez.

A press conference on the Moroccan Jewish Heritage was also held, followed by a Gala Dinner, which was an opportunity for exchanging ideas to promote and better communicate such heritage.

Many important personalities attended the event, amongst which President of the Bundestag, Norbert Lammert and several other personalities of the Berlin Jewish Community, as well as diplomats and representatives of the interfaith dialogue. For the Moroccan side, among the attendees, there was André Azoulay, Advisor to the King Mohammed VI, Amine Sbihi, Moroccan Minister of Culture, Serge Berdugo, the Chairman of the Moroccan Jewish Council, as well as Jacques Toledano, CEO of the Moroccan Jewish Heritage Foundation and the Casablanca Jewish Museum.
