Morocco has launched an international tender to equip the stadiums in Agadir and Marrakech and their annexed training stadiums with natural grass; this is in preparation for hosting the 2030 World Cup, jointly organized by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.

The tender was issued by The National Company for the Construction and Management of Sports Facilities (Sonarges), as the project owner, and The National Agency for Public Facilities (ANEP), as the delegated project owner, both appealed to the interested companies and contractors to submit their bids before May 20th.

According to data obtained by newspaper ‘Al-3omk’, the cost of turfing the main stadium in Marrakech and its annex with natural grass is estimated at 18,730,080 dirhams (approximately 1.87 billion centimes), while the cost of turfing the large stadium in Agadir and its annex with natural grass will stand at 19,803,288 dirhams (approximately 1.98 billion centimes).
