Mezouar and Bouaida Inaugurate the Republic of Panama’s Embassy in Morocco

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mr. Salaheddine Mezouar, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Ms. Mbarka Bouaida and the Panamanian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Mayra Arosemena attended the inauguration of the headquarters of the Embassy of the Republic of Panama in Morocco Friday, April 18, 2014 in Rabat, in the presence of the Ambassador of Panama to Morocco, the Latin American diplomatic corps accredited to Morocco and the United States Ambassador accredited in Rabat.

The Panamanian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs praised in a statement to the press, the opening of the Embassy of his country in Morocco, indicating the willingness of Panama to promote bilateral cooperation with Morocco, to promote the mutual support of Panama in Africa and Morocco in Latin America.

Ms. Arosemena was optimistic about the strengthening of bilateral economic and commercial relations all the more, stating that Morocco is a gateway to Africa and Panama is a transit country to the South America, Central America and the Caribbean.

After having emphasized the interest in the holding of the signing, on Thursday in Rabat, of a memorandum of understanding on political consultations and a framework agreement for cooperation between the two countries, the Panamanian official indicated that four other bilateral projects are in the process of being drawn up.

For her part, Ms. Bouaida stated that the inauguration of the Panamanian Embassy in Rabat marks a milestone in the Moroccan-Panamanian relations which can lead to a promising future in terms of political and economic exchanges

The Minister Delegate, also, noted that the withdrawal by the Panama of its recognition of the pseudo-SADR, falls within the framework of the policy of consolidating the Panama of its relations with all partners in Africa to which Morocco is part.
