The Amazigh Cultural Movement organised a peaceful march in Tizi Ouzou, Algeria, to celebrate the 34th anniversary of the Amazigh Spring in Algeria.
While thousands of Amazigh militants and Tamazight sympathizers gathered for their cause, large numbers of policemen were deployed in the city’s main streets to prevent this “naturally peaceful march” as described by the militants.
After the marchers started chanting their slogans, violent clashes broke out with policemen, and within minutes , the area around the University of Tizi Ouzou , turned into a battlefield for several hours, to result in Dozens of injuries from both sides.
