ECOWAS seek Moroccan support to consolidate stability in the Sahel region

Mr. Kadré Désiré, president of the West African States Economic Community (ECOWAS), called upon Moroccan contribution to the development an the establishment of peace in the Sahel region.

This call was during Mr. Kadré’s working visit to Morocco, where he presented the ECOWAS’s newly developed strategy to consolidate peace and stability in the Saharan-Sahelian areas. “We are presenting our newly developed strategy to seek the Moroccan support for further development to consolidate stability in the region”, commented Mr. Désiré during a joint press conference with Mbarka bouaida, Moroccan delegate minister for foreign affairs and cooperation.

ECOWAS is a West African intergovernmental organization established in 1975, to promote cooperation and integration, for creating a West African Economic and Monetary Union.
