Benkirane Leads a Ministerial Delegation to the U.S.

Prime Minister Abdellilah Benkirane is leading a delegation to the U.S., to participate in the U.S. & Africa summit.

The delegation includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar, the Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment, and the Digital Economy, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, the Minister-Delegate of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mbarka Bouaida, the Minister Delegate of Industry, Trade, Investment, and the Digital Economy, Mohamed-Mamoune Bouhdoud, the Director General of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Amina Benkhadra, the CEO of BMCE Bank, Othman Benjelloun, the President of Moroccan Confederation of Businesses (CGEM), Miriem Bensalah Chaqroun, CEO of the Casablanca Stock Exchange, Karim Hajji, the chairman and CEO of Attijariwafa Bank, Mohamed El Kettani, and the Chairman and CEO of OCP Group, executive board member of La Banque Centrale Populaire, Mostafa Terrab.

In a statement published on Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website,  Mezouar stressed “that the USA-Africa Summit is an opportunity to highlight Morocco’s assets as a platform for the continent. Mr. Mezouar underlined that Morocco which has accumulated expertise and experiences in the continent, is a credible partner for the European Union as well as for the United States within the framework of the partnerships with Africa.”

Mezouar added “that the Kingdom’s participation in this first Afro-American conclave aims at contributing to the concretization of projects which primarily concern the black continent and which put the human dimension at the core of their strategies.”
