The Daily Mail said two days ago that the well-known pop star Rihanna is considering buying one of the big four teams of the premier league, namely F.C Liverpool. A report in the Spanish publication El Mundo Deportivo claims that the interest came about after that the Chelsea striker Didier Drogba advised Rihanna to make an offer for the reds.
The “You’ll never walk alone” team is actually owned by Fenway Sports Group, which also owns the Boston Red Sox and Roush Fenway Racing. The group also owns the Anfield Stadium of Liverpool and Fenway Park, the home of the Red Sox.
Financial analysts believe that the deal is unlikely to happen, since the owner group is happy with the financial income of the team. However, Rihanna might join the share holders of the group if she really wants to invest in Liverpool.
Rihanna has already started investing in the football business world. She is now setting up a football academy in her home country Barbados to make kids familiar with the game.
