The Moroccan student and singer Nawal Msaad who was arrested at Heathrow Airport of London as she was getting ready to travel to Istanbul was cleared from terrorism charges.

The 27-year-old Moroccan student was accused previously of “trying to smuggle 20,000 euros (£15,800) in her underwear to a Briton fighting in Syria has been found not guilty of funding terrorism,” the BBC said.

On the other hand, her friend Amal El-Wahabi [Moroccan as well] who gave her the money and asked her to be a “trusted courier for the money” was convicted under British terrorism laws “as she became the first Briton to be convicted under terror laws of funding jihadi fighters in Syria,” the Independent said.

Nawal was caught crying while saying the following: “I’m relieved to be found not guilty. I will be forever thankful to my family. I’m physically drained and mentally weak.”
