Palestinian Human Rights Groups Urge Probe into Israeli War Crimes in Gaza

Palestinian human rights organizations have urged launch of a probe into the latest Israel onslaught in the Gaza Strip which have wiped out entire Palestinian families, media reports said.

“What is significant in this war compared to previous experience are the heavy attacks on families,” said Hamdi Shaqqura, the deputy director of the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, Al-Alam reported.

“You have dozens of families smashed. Sometimes no single family member is left. There are hundreds of cases and everyone is very significant,” he said.

The rights body also said that at least 871 cases of houses having been damaged or destroyed have been recorded during Israel’s recent aggression against Gaza, resulting in the death of 908 people.

Over 2,000 Gazans, mostly women and children, have been killed and over 11,000 others were severely wounded in the Israeli forces’ war against the Strip since July 8.

On Wednesday night, the Israeli officials and Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas agreed to extend ceasefire for five days ending on Monday midnight.
