Maybe a legitimate question would be if the ball will have to stop for customs every time it crosses the ‘Borders Net,’ yet, the fact is that a group of Moroccan youth and their Algerian counterparts said recently that they are set to play a volleyball game over the Moroccan-Algerian borders the next 31st of October, 2014.

The initiative was started by the Association “Youth without Borders,” which said in its Facebook page that the main aim of this initiative is to break the idleness surrounding the Moroccan-Algerian political spat as well as to show “discontent in regards to the actual situation the two countries’ citizens have to endure.”

According to said association’s Facebook page, the move is purely “humanitarian and peaceful” and won’t accept any politicization of the initiative, neither from the Moroccan side nor from its Algerian counterpart.

It would be interesting to see how both countries’ officials will deal with the move, and whether if, in the first place, will allow the game to take place.

It is worth reminding that “Youth Without Borders” includes many members from both Algeria and Morocco.
