The first Ebola case in Senegal has been confirmed yesterday, August 29 by the ministry of health during a press conference in Dakar.

The patient, a young Guinean national, is now quarantined at the Infectious Diseases Hospital of Fann in Dakar.

“All the measures are strengthened to prevent the spread of this imported case,” assured the minister of health, Awa Marie Coll Seck.

“We’re checking all those with whom the patient has been lately in contact to make sure none of them is contaminated,” added the minister.
