A grandfather in the US town of Bell, Florida, fatally shot his daughter and her six children before killing himself, media reports said.
Don Charles Spirit, 51, of Bell, a small community Southeast of Tallahassee, contacted officials via 911 and said he was considering doing harm to himself and others, USA Today reported.
“When law enforcement arrived at the home Spirit shared with his family at about 4 p.m. Thursday, they found his six grandchildren, ages 3 months to 11, all dead, as well as his daughter,” Gilchrist County Sheriff Robert Schultz told reporters.
Schultz identified Spirits’s daughter as Sarah Spirit, and the children who died as Kylie Kuhlmann, 9, Kaleb Kuhlmann, 11, Jonathan Kuhlmann, 8, Destiny Stewart, 5, Alana Stewart, born June 28 of this year, and Brandon Stewart, 4.
