The Israeli attacks on Gaza destroyed around 500 economic facilities that form 60 percent of the manufacturing capability in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian ministry of economy said.

“The Israeli occupation premeditatedly targeted hundreds of the industrial, commercial and service facilities,” the Palestinian Ministry of Economy’s Spokesman Azmi Abdul Rahman said, Middle East Monitor reported.

The commercial facilities included small shops and that paralyzed the economy during the Israeli war.

“The effect of the economic paralysis would last until the facilities were reconstructed,” he stressed.

“Specialist professional staff are working on evaluating the losses in the Strip; estimating that reconstruction of the economic facilities needs at least one year,” Abdul Rahman added.

“Initial evaluations showed that the indirect losses exceeded $440mln,” he said.
