EU ambassador to Morocco Rupert Joy told Maghreb Agency Press (La MAP) said that t”he Moroccan-EU partnership is one of the most important ones in the European neighborhood, adding that Morocco’s 2008 advanced status is unique in the Mediterranean region.”
Regarding the closed Morocco-Algeria borders, Rupert Joy stressed that “this situation is completely absurd as it hampers Maghreb integration which is in the interest of Europe,” the aformentioned source reported.
“Referring to the fight against religious extremism in the Sahel and north Africa, the diplomat said that Morocco plays a crucial role in combating this plague,” La MAP reported.
