The Brookings Institution: “Morocco Has So Far Been a Success Story in the Arab world”

The Brookings Institution, a think tank consistently being ranked as one of the most influential, most quoted and most trusted think tanks in the world, said recently -in the wake of publishing a new book entitled “Agriculture and rural development for inclusive growth and food security in Morocco”- that the country “has so far been a success story in the Arab world,” as it “avoided the political upheavals and economic meltdowns that plagued other Arab Countries in Transition (ACTs).”

“It has followed a gradual approach to political reforms and democratization, which led to the adoption of a new constitution and the holding of free parliamentary elections in 2011,” the Brookings Institution added.

Nevertheless, the leading think thank stressed that “maintaining this record of success will require continued political and economic reforms.”

It is worth reminding that the Brooking Institute is a nonprofit public policy organization based in Washington, DC. Its mission is to conduct high-quality, independent research and, based on that research, provide innovative, practical recommendations that advance three broad goals: 1-strengthen American democracy, 2- foster the economic and social welfare, security and opportunity of all Americans. 3-Secure a more open, safe, prosperous and cooperative international system.
