Morocco Not To Participate in “Cycling Tour of Algeria” After Inviting So-Called Sahraoui Republic as Guest of Honor

The President of the Moroccan Cycling Federation, Mohammed Belmahi reacted to Algeria’s suspicious decision saying that “there is no way Morocco will participate in a tour that will witness the participation of the Polisario front.”

The Moroccan national cycling team will not to participate in the Grand Cycling Tour of Algeria (GTAC 2015), to be held from 6 to 30 March 2015, following the Algerian officials not only inviting the so-called “Saharawi national cycling team,”  but making it “the guest of honor of the 5th Grand Cycling Tour of Algeria (GTAC 2015),” despite its very modest record and performance in the field, a team that may not even be qualified as a professional team.

Last Tuesday the President of the Algerian Cycling Federation (FAC), Rachid Fezouine, said during a forum hosted by the National Organization of Algerian sports journalists, that Algeria will invite the so-called “Saharawi national cycling team, as a guest of honor.”
