Rabat, Morocco- The High Commission for Planning (HCP) head, Ahmed Alami Lahlimi presented yesterday to the Moroccan monarch King Mohammed VI the results of the 6th General Census.

Ahmed Lahllimi said that the results of the census showed that the number of Moroccan citizens reached 33,848,242, in addition to 86,206 non Moroccan residents.

According to the HCP numbers, 60.3% of Moroccans live in cities, a number that stood at 55.1 back in 2004.

The High Commissioner for Planning, Mr. Lahlimi said earlier that the census operation costs Morocco around $US 106 Million.

It is worth nothing that on social media platforms however, various Moroccans were caught skeptic vis-à-vis the numbers advanced by the HCP.
