Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Dozens of Moroccans living in Sweden organized a sit-in Saturday, October 10, before the “Riksdag” (Swedish Parliament), in the wake of reports unveiling that the Swedish authorities are on the verge of recognizing the United-Nations- the pseudo “SADR”.
Protesters called upon Sweden to respect the UN resolution on the Sahara and keep its neutrality by not siding with the polisario front.
The Moroccan Times received dozens of images from Mr. Alex Luka Aziz Ladime, who participated in the event.
The sit-in saw even the participation of Moroccan nationals living in other Nordic countries, including Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland, with some of them even resorting to sleep in the Moroccan Islamic Center’s local mosque as the image below show, showcasing their loyalty in supporting Morocco’s national cause no matter the circumstances.
Swedish-Moroccan activist Youssef Jebbari told Akhbar Al Yaoum that the decision to hold the sit-in had been taken unanimously by various Moroccan actors operating in the aforementioned Scandinavian countries.
