Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- A statement from Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that “Pursuant to the High Instructions of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, the Kingdom of Morocco has decided to grant an urgent humanitarian aid of 1 million dollars, to Paraguay, victim of the consequences of the floods resulting from the meteorological phenomenon « El Niño».”

The statement further noted that the floods “caused human loss and material damage in this friendly Latin American country. ”

“This decision falls within the framework of the commitment of the Kingdom for South-South Cooperation, and a shared, permenant and  active solidarity of Morocco with countries of the region. It aims at contributing to the alleviation of the difficult conditions in which a part of the friendly Paraguayan population lives in,” the communiqué closed.
