Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- According to a story featured in today’s edition of the Moroccan daily Akhbar Al Yaoum, the Moroccan Minister of Industry, Trade and Digital Economy, Moulay Hafid Elalamy headed to Seattle to hold a meeting with Boeing officials to discuss the possibility of the leading aeronautics company boosting its investment in Morocco.
It is worth reminding that he Moroccan aeronautics sector is enjoying an annual growth rate of around 15%, with this sector contribution to Morocco’s GDP floating around 5%.
The Moroccan aeronautical industry generated $1bn in turnover in 2013 and was the main source of employment for 10,000 people.
The list of major manufacturers present in Morocco now includes Safran, Bombardier, Boeing and Airbus.
