Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan national team lost against Egypt in the last minutes of the the last-scheduled quarter-final of the African cup of Nations 2017, despite a brilliant display from the Atlas lions.

Substitute Kahraba scored in the 87th minute to send Egypt to the semis, and by the same token send Morocco packing.

As Egyptian talisman Salah swung the corner into the near post, Kahraba flicked on faster than Benatia, sending the ball past El Kajoui.

Morocco dominated the game with a resilient performance, missing many opportunities to lead; Bouhaddouz missing three clear chances and Boussoufa hitting the bar from 30 yards (check video underneath).

Kahraba’s goal in the 87th minute robbed Morocco out of a victory and a chance to advance to the semis.

The victory is very significant for the Egyptians as they failed to win against Morocco in the last 31 years.

They meet Burkina Faso in the semis with an impressive defense as they have still to concede a goal.
