Hakima el Haite: 23% of Co2 emissions in Morocco stem from vehicles

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- While speaking on the sidelines of the third edition of “Rabat’s Conference for Sustainable Development,” environment minister Hakima El Haite said that around one quarter percent of Co2 emissions in Morocco stem from vehicles.

“23% of Co2 emissions in Morocco stem from vehicles,” El Haite noted.

“The number is alarming,” El Haite said, before stressing that “this is a concern as it affects the health of citizens.”

Morocco’s environment minister also called upon African countries to adopt environment-friendly public policies, among which acquiring climate-friendly means of transport like hybrid and electric cars.
