Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan Ministry of Interior has ordered cafes, restaurants, bars, clubs, cinemas, sports facilities, and public spaces in the whole country to close as part of measures to stop the spread of coronavirus.

The new regulations will take effect today starting from 18:00 local time.

The new regulations aim to cripple down the spread of the virus, in a bet to avoid an Italy-like scenario.

It is worth mentioning that there are currently 29 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Morocco, but the number is expected to rise in the next hours.
