Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan Health authorities shared yesterday some interesting numbers related to the use of Plaquenil (chloroquine) during their daily coronavirus press conference.

Dr. Mohamed Lyoubi, head of the epidemiology department at the Moroccan Ministry of Health, said that 26 people recovered thanks to the use of Plaquenil (chloroquine), with a recovery timeframe from 6 to 22 days.

Lyoubi stressed that from the 26 persons, 8 people were admitted in a critical situation, 14 in a moderate one, while 4 were admitted despite not showing any symptoms.

Lyoubi also stressed that it is still too early to draw any concrete scientific conclusions about the efficacy of the treatment with the aforementioned drug.

It is worth reminding that Morocco has used since the start of the outbreak said drug to treat all coronavirus cases, with Lyoubi stressing a few days ago that the decision is “a sovereign one,” taken by the state after consultations with the Moroccan health authorities.
