Dubai, UAE (TMT)- Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, announced on Friday evening the success of the first Arab Muslim space mission.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, who is also the Prime Minister and ruler of Dubai, made the announcement in a tweet about the journey of the Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi to space.
He said that after three years of intensive training, they saw Sultan Al Neyadi on his first mission to walk into outer space and carry out tasks of installing new parts and performing maintenance on the International Space Station.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid added that Al Neyadi was the first Emirati, first Arab, and first Muslim to walk in outer space, and they are proud of that.
