On Sunday, beachgoers at Plage Belyounech in the northern part of the kingdom were taken by surprise when a “Phantom” boat arrived at the shore to transport a group of migrants towards southern Spain. Some beachgoers managed to capture a video of the jet boat transferring the migrants, causing astonishment among the onlookers and attracting the attention of the coast patrol forces. In an attempt to avoid suspicion due to the high temperatures and the beach being half-full, the migrants tried to blend in with other beachgoers by sitting among them and wearing swimsuits.

Amidst the ensuing confusion and chaos, some of the migrants successfully boarded the boat, while others were left stranded on the beach. The Moroccan authorities promptly alerted the Spanish Civil Guard, who intercepted the boat and apprehended two Spaniards suspected of involvement in human trafficking, along with eight Moroccan migrants who were onboard. On the Moroccan side, the coast patrol forces apprehended those who were unable to board the boat.
