Fake Dentists: Major Crackdown on Medical Impersonation and Fraud in Morocco

Seven people were arrested in Morocco for forgery, fraud, and illegal dentistry, causing severe health complications and defrauding health insurance and social security funds.

RABAT- In a significant and well-mediatized operation, the Moroccan police apprehended seven individuals suspected of being part of a complex medical impersonation criminal network. These individuals were actively operating in the cities of Salé and Meknès.

The suspects were involved in various illegal activities including forgery, fraud, and unauthorized practice of dentistry.

Alarmingly, their unlicensed medical practice led to serious health complications among their victims.

The network also committed financial fraud by creating false medical costs and claiming them from health insurance companies and social security funds.

According to the authorities two of the seven arrested had been previously detained under the anti-terrorism law.

The arrested suspects are currently under custody for further investigations.

The authorities aim to uncover any additional accomplices involved in this case and take necessary legal actions against them.
