Taxi drivers in Casablanca held a protest in front of the Casablanca-Settat region headquarters, voicing their discontent with the perceived lack of communication with professional unions that represent them.

The drivers, who are representatives of various unions, staged a protest expressing their dissatisfaction with what they perceive as the authorities’ indifference towards the increasing operation of ride-sharing applications such as Uber and others.

They criticized the government’s fuel subsidies program, which they believe has not eased their situation but made it worse.

They also mentioned the burden of vocational training costs. Professionals demand urgent and meaningful dialogue with the concerned authorities to find solutions for the sector’s issues.

The present Union representatives emphasized the need for the governor’s intervention due to perceived chaos in the sector.
