Casablanca – The tension is palpable as Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca prepares to face Egypt’s Al-Ahly in the first leg of the African Champions League final this Sunday in Cairo. Yahya Jabran, Wydad’s captain, respects the Egyptian giants but remains unfazed.

Speaking to Radio Mars, Jabran admitted, “Al-Ahly is a formidable competitor with a wealth of experience in tough matches,” however, he added, “But Wydad is a major team, and the current champions. We are not an opponent to be taken lightly.”

Underlining the importance of the upcoming match, Jabran emphasized their goal to secure a positive outcome in Cairo. This, he believes, would set the stage for a less pressurized return leg in Morocco.

“We aim to approach the return leg of the African Champions League final without pressure, which means we need to secure a satisfactory result in Cairo,” he said.

In a high-stakes face-off with Al-Ahly, Jabran’s words set the tone for what promises to be an exciting and fiercely competitive match.
