28th International Book Fair Draws Record 240,000 Visitors

RABAT, Morocco – The 28th edition of the International Book and Publishing Fair (SIEL) concluded with the announcement by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication that the event had attracted a record 240,000 visitors, a significant increase from 202,089 visitors last year.

Morocco’s premium book fair was an impressive showcase of literary diversity and cultural richness, with over 700 exhibitors from more than 50 countries, including over 120,000 books spanning across a vast array of fields.

This year’s fair hosted a record-breaking 1230 cultural events, with 308 of these events directly organized by the Ministry. More than 3200 people contributed to the cultural program, including 805 ministry-affiliated participants.

The fair also offered educational and entertainment opportunities for children, featuring over 600 interactive workshops designed to inspire an interest in books and reading among the younger attendees.

Media interest in the event was strong, with more than 80 media institutions providing coverage, and over 700 journalists and technicians joining to bring news and highlights about the event.
