The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Beni Mellal has launched an investigation into a YouTube channel over false news published regarding the arrest of the King’s representative/Attorney (Waqil Al Malik) in the city of Fkih Ben Salah.
The channel had alleged the representative was arrested in connection with his wife’s murder.
The General Attorney of the King at the Court of Appeal in Beni Mellal denounced the news report on Wednesday, labeling the news as “false and baseless.”
The Attorney General confirmed that the misreported information has detrimentally impacted the reputation of the judicial official in question.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the Public Prosecution has called on the police services to uncover the circumstances surrounding the release of this piece of news.
The subsequent legal ramifications will be determined by the findings of the investigation, the source confirmed.
