Rabat, Morocco- During yesterday’s weekly government council meeting, Morocco’s head of the government, and the General Secretary of the Islamic ethically inspired Justice and Development party, Mr. Abdelilah Benkirane condemned with the harshest terms the recent terrorist attack in Tunisia and called on all Moroccans to strive to protect the various tourists who flock to Morocco for tourism, and the foreigners who live in the country.
“I am extremely sad following the terrorist attack in Tunisia. Really really sad,” Benkirane said.
“Whatever happens in Tunisia, whether it is joy or sadness, will reverberate in Morocco. Today, we share the same sadness,” Benkirane noted.
“Indeed whatever occurs in Tunisia will have its repercussions on Morocco and the whole region.
“Security is our collective responsibility, something that involves all citizens,” Benkirane stressed.
“Every Moroccan is a soldier, ready to defend the security, the stability and the law of his country.
“All Moroccans should strive to defend tourists and foreigners, because it is our responsibility,” Benkirane stressed.
“Various people flock to Morocco, mainly for its stability and when they come here, they help us as they are boosting our economy.
“We should all strive to defend them, and keep that [stability],” Benkirane said.
“I would like to send this message to those young men [those who commit terrorist acts] if they are hearing me, you are committing crimes. You are killing people. God will judge you for this. God will judge you for the blood you shed.”
“By which rights do you commit such crimes?
“God the almighty forbade the killing of people. Islam is about mercy, about sharing mercy with people from all around the world,” Benkirane angrily closed.
