Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Few days after what Moroccan media described as the “black Sunday game,” one which opposed 10 days ago in complex Mohammed V of Casablanca Chabab Al Rif Al Hoceimi (visitors) to the locals of Raja Casblanca, and which saw the killing of three people and more than 80 injured as a result of acts of hooliganism, the Moroccan authorities decided to take new initiatives to eradicate the phenomenon of hooliganism in Morocco’s football stadiums.

The Moroccan Minister of Youth and Sports, Lahcen Sekkouri announced Monday, that “before the end of 2016, all stadiums hosting games of the Botola Pro [Moroccan national league] will be equipped with stadium turnstiles, numbered seats and surveillance cameras.”

“This is aimed to ensure a smooth access to stadiums, facilitate the surveillance and control of the crowd, part of a new preventive approach,” which will “facilitate interventions” in case of prospective hooliganism cases, Sekkouri stressed.
