Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- A statement from the Royal Office said yesterday that King Mohammed VI held, on Wednesday, a phone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Morocco’s news agency La MAP relayed.

Both leaders discussed the migration policy, the Royal Office said.

In this regard, the Kingdom of Morocco committed itself to optimizing and rationalizing the management of migration inflows, the Royal Office statement added.

King Mohammed VI gave his orders, following the phone conversation with Merkel, to Mr Mohammed Hassad, Interior Minister, to travel to Germany, “along with a team of experts from the same ministry, in order to speed up the process of identifying and bringing home Moroccan nationals involved in this operation,” La MAP relayed from the Royal Office.

According to the Royal office, Merkel accepted King Mohammed VI’s invitation “to pay an official visit to Morocco early 2017,” Morocco’s news agency said.
