Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Morocco’s head of national police directorate, the General Directorate for National Security (DGST) Abdellatif Hammouchi, held talks with Thomas Haldenwang, head of the German Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (bfv), along with a delegation of senior assistants from said intelligence agency.

The meeting, which took place today at Hammouchi’s office in Rabat, focused on assessing the security situation at the regional and national levels.

The two sides discussed studying the threats and challenges posed by the increasing terrorist danger, and ways to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries based on credibility, trust, and mutual interest.

According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance, the visit confirms the mutual desire of both parties to strengthen security cooperation and consolidate intelligence coordination to combat threats to the security of both countries.

According to the statement, this is particularly important given the pivotal changes in the nature of the terrorist threat and organized crime.
