Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The prestigious research center of Oxford Business Group (OBG) said in a recent report that it took 16 years for Morocco to impose itself as a rising power in the aeronautics and automotive sectors.

Among others, the leading research group threw a spotlight on Morocco’s industrial acceleration plan 2014-2020, which enabled the aforementioned sectors to drastically improve.

Regarding the aeronautics sector, OBG said that Morocco hosts 120 companies, with the list including giants like the American Boeing, further noting that at the exports level, Morocco exported in 2015 around DH 7.3 billion, including DH 5.7 billion in the first eight months of 2016.

When it came to the automobile sector, OBG said it expects the sector to witness a steady improvement, especially given the recent establishment of the PSA, known as PSA Peugeot Citroën from 1991 to 2016, plant. In terms of numbers, OBG stressed that during 2016 alone, Morocco exported a record number of vehicles that surpassed 316,712 units, a 22.4% increase compared to one year before.
