Rabat, Morocco (TMT)-  The sales of new cars in Morocco last month continued on the same negative trend that started this year, with a decrease of 8.55% compared to the same period last year. The number of new registrations for private vehicles fell by 6.47%, while sales of light commercial vehicles dropped by 26.01%.

Dacia and Renault were the most bought brands for new private and light commercial vehicles, respectively. Audi had the highest sales for new premium vehicles.

However, buoyed by the sales of used cars, the automotive sector in Morocco saw an increase of 44.8% in overall sales compared to the same period last year, reaching nearly MAD 33.92 billion by the end of March 2023.
