Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism said in a statement that 8.7 million tourists visited Morocco by the end of August 2018, recording an 8% increase compared to figures for the same period of 2017.
The numbers of Moroccans living abroad visiting Morocco for the aforementioned period stood at 4.33 million, while the number of international tourists hit the 4.37 million-mark.
The Ministry said that the number of foreign tourists recorded an important increase of 14% while the number of Moroccans living abroad saw a 2% increase.
According to said source, Morocco saw an interesting 14% increase in Italian tourists, followed by Germany (+10%), France (+7%) and the Netherlands (+6%).
