Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan Minister of Industry, Moulay Hafid Elalami said that 500 Moroccan ventilators will be ready next week, part of Morocco’s efforts to come up with creative solutions to curb the coronavirus outbreak.

“This week, the second version was tested, which allows, in addition to providing ventilation, the collecting of data from sensors, as well as diffusing oxygen in a more technical way,” the Moroccan Minister said.

Under the aegis of the Moroccan Ministries of Industry and Health, Morocco has rallied a task force team, composed of health experts, engineers, and private local aeronautics providers, who normally supply big names like Boeing, Airbus, and Safran, to engineer both non-invasive and invasive ventilators.

Moulay Hafid Elalamy said that the 500 ventilators that will be distributed in Morocco’s hospitals are non-invasive ventilators, further stressing that the aforementioned task force will start testing invasive ventilators next week.
