The vanished plane: Chinese satellite spotted “floating objects”

China announced Wednesday, March 12 that one of its satellites had detected three large “floating objects” in a sea area where the Boeing 777 Malaysia Airlines might have disappeared.

The Chinese agency for Science and Technology reported that, on March 9th, a satellite had spotted objects “in the maritime area of the alleged crash,” adding that the images are being analysed. They were spotted by 105.63 degrees east longitude and 6.7 degrees north latitude, according to the website of the Chinese agency. The three objects, measuring 13 meters by 18 meters, 14 meters by 19 meters and 24 meters by 22 meters, were scattered over a radius of 20 km.
