Morocco holds Political consultations with Lithuania

The Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Ms. Mbarka Bouaida and Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Neris Germanas, co-chaired, Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in Vilnius, the session of political consultations between the Morocco and Lithuania.

During this meeting, the discussions focused on bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly the relationship between Morocco and the European Union. The two sides also hailed the existing and successful cooperation between the two countries within the United Nations and other International Organizations Nations.

The Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed on this occasion, the reforms undertaken by Morocco in recent years in the political, economic and social fields.

The two Ministers also laid emphasis on the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the economic field and proceeded to an exchange of views on the means to afford to give a new impetus to cooperation in this field.

Mr. Germanas has also expressed the wish to benefit from the Kingdom’s experience as a platform to African markets and encourage partnership between businessmen of the two countries to explore promising opportunities for partnership with Africa.

The two sides reviewed the situation in North Africa, Russia, Ukraine and Crimea. The two Ministers stressed in this regard, the need to find a political solution to the crisis in Ukraine and to preserve the territorial integrity of this country.

In addition, Ms. Bouaida hosted a conference on the history of Moroccan culture at the University of Vilnius, one of the prestigious universities in Lithuania.
