Ministry of Health: No Ebola virus cases in Morocco

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health announced that it has not registered any cases of the Ebola fever. Health monitoring at the border has also been strengthened.

In a statement, the ministry has declared that they “are keen to reassure the public that Morocco is free of the Ebola fever epidemic, after the confirmation of 112 cases so far in Guinea.”

The same source adds:  “as a precautionary measure, and following the measures of the International Health System, the ministry is following closely the global epidemiological situation and has strengthened the process of health monitoring at the level of access points, in cooperation with the port authorities, particularly with  Mohammed V airport in Casablanca .”

Also, the ministry has provided the necessary precautions to provide medical checks and surveillance to travellers that are arriving from countries that have recorded considerable number of contaminations and who are showing symptoms of the fever.

It is important to note that epidemic has caused 70 casualties so far in Guinea.
