The General Branch of National Security has discharged police prefects of both Fes and Tetouan. Both officials have been relocated to the general branch in Rabat awaiting further action. For the time being, they have not been assigned any mission.

These sanctions came as a response to the increasing levels of crime in the two cities, especially in Fes where residents have organised multiple sit-ins to ask for the reinforcement of the police protection in different neighbourhoods of the city.

The city of Casablanca is also expected to have a new police prefect, as the current one has been discharged as well.
