In a four hours elections process, held at the first chamber of the Moroccan parliament, Rachid Talbi Alami, who had been running for the parliamentary presidency, in the name of the governing majority, got elected as the new parliament first chamber president, for the second half of Benkirane’s coalition government.

Talbi Alami, a parliamentary member of the the liberal party, which has joined the coalition government after the Independence party left to the opposition, (Talbi) got 225 votes, while his opponent, Karim Ghellab, the ex president, who was supported by the opposition, got 147 votes.

During this elections event, the presence of all the governing majority’s parliamentary members was remarkable; the thing which can convey, to some extent, the benkirane’s government harmonious and agreed-upon decision making.
